Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle and highly effective massage technique designed to stimulate the lymphatic system and support the body’s natural detoxification process.

Lymph is the fluid found in connective tissues that contains lymphocytes, macrophages, and other immune cells. The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in immunity, detoxification, and fluid balance. When the lymph flow becomes sluggish or impaired, the immune system weakens, leading to fluid retention, swelling, and slower healing.

Benefits of Manual Lymphatic Drainage:

  • speeds up post-surgical recovery (liposuction, tummy tuck, breast surgery, etc.),

  • deeply relaxes the parasympathetic nervous system,

  • stimulates the immune system at the cellular level,

  • helps eliminate toxins and protein-rich fluids,

  • reduces swelling and improves skin and muscle tone,

  • relieves headaches, migraines, and sinus congestion,

  • soothes sprains, muscle spasms, and injuries, supporting greater mobility.

Origins and Methods:

The MLD method was developed by Dr. Emil Vodder and his wife, focusing on gentle, rhythmic strokes to enhance lymph circulation and promote drainage. Today, MLD is widely used in medical, therapeutic, and wellness settings as a recognized therapy for lymphatic and circulatory issues.

French physician Dr. Bruno Chikly later introduced Lymph Drainage Therapy (LDT), a more advanced approach that integrates principles of osteopathy, craniosacral therapy, and manual therapy techniques.

Individualized Approach:

Evguenia Razinkova has studied both Vodder’s MLD method and Chikly’s LDT technique. She tailors each session to your unique health goals, ensuring a personalized treatment that enhances overall well-being, supports healing, and improves quality of life.
